VOTE DENNIS SCHAARDT FOR LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT 1.

Why I’m Running

I am not a career politician or a Lincoln insider; I'm a husband, a dad, a grandpa, and a conservative small business owner, right here in Southeast Nebraska. I am proud of my deep roots in Southeast Nebraska, and my extensive experience serving the region we call home. Now, I want to serve as your Senator in Legislative District 1, so we can fight to keep Nebraska as the best place to work, raise a family, and do business.

Meet Dennis

Husband, Dad, and Grandpa

I have spent my entire life living in Pawnee County. I met my wife Kim here. We raised our three children here and now they are raising my grandchildren here. My kids have also been very active in our community and state. My oldest Courtney is the Senior Director of Outreach Education for Nebraska Farm Bureau and her husband Seth works at our Locker Plant, they have two kids of their own, Elmie and Bridger. My middle Colton owns a private equity fund where he is involved primarily in the Agribusiness Sector and Real Estate Development, his wife Megan is a Nurse. They have a daughter Olivia and a baby due July 2024. My youngest Clay is an auctioneer and real estate agent. He and his fiance Cassie are set to get married in the fall of 2024.

Southeast Nebraska Small Business Owner

I have owned and operated Den’s Country Meats in Table Rock since October 2, 1985. Since our humble beginning in a small space right off the town square we have since expanded our business and have grown to a USDA inspected plant in a new space. I know what it is like to work against high interest rates and what it takes to navigate through government red tape. These are similar issues that business owners deal with today. I have been there and I continue to deal with it. Just like everyone else.

For many years, special interest groups in our state and country have controlled our legislative processes. It’s time we take a stand against it. I will serve the people in district one, because I am the same as many of you. As I talk to concerned citizens in our district there is a reoccurring theme. We don’t need special interest to come in and tell us how to think. Let’s stand up against big money and keep our voice local!
